Gleeks Unite!

Fox’s hit, GLEE, is a fun, hip television show, which promotes an overall positive attitude in young adults in today’s society. For some, watching this is the only way to overcome such issues as sexuality and just plain fitting in. This show is guiding young people whose parents aren’t around to coach them, or just don’t understand them. This show gives a little taste of all the groups and cliques formed in high school, and uses a creative twist to bring all sorts of ethnic and social backgrounds together. This is a great show for any teenager, not just the music lovers; although, the music numbers incorporated in the show are outstanding. The show certainly has a large amount of talent, and a special celebrity guest star usually pops their way into the show as well to make things more interesting.

Parents, at times, have certain issues and misunderstandings of how GLEE is influencing their children, but the simple act of watching an entire show to see what it is truly worth does make a difference. I believe that everything glee does is purposeful in teaching a moral lesson, or a lesson pertaining to specific situations kids are now facing such as sexual orientation or trying to find oneself as an individual. The teenage years are full of interesting curve balls, and this show seems to help young people prepare for the interesting lives ahead of them. Of course, maybe, there have been some instances where a certain scene may offend a conservative family, but life is messy and GLEE shows things how it is.
